Having been around art all my life, I have always been fascinated with colors. My father was an artist, and as I grew up I watched him squeeze the paint from the tubes and mix two or three colors to make totally different shades. Then in awe I watched him use the paint to transform the canvas into a beautiful painting. So I began painting too. At the age of twelve I sold my first painting for twenty dollars. I danced with joy because I thought I was rich. By fifteen I was selling my work to art dealers. My father did not encourage me to paint like him. In fact, he was hesitant to instruct me at all because he wanted me to develop my own style. So with trial and error I learned to duplicate what my eyes saw. I painted every chance I had, and spent many hours outdoors studying. I developed a deep appreciation for the ever changing facets of nature. I tried to capture on canvas the clouds, trees and flowers.
